This fabulous 1960s sunshine yellow floral party dress, made by Jerry Gilden for his Juniors line, is such a fun combination of print and style details. The lovely print is a myriad of flowers in shades of yellow on a mostly covered white background. The fitted bodice has a mid scoop neck in the front, with a deep scoop in the back. Waist darts form the shaping. The shoulder seams are slightly elongated at the armhole, almost forming a miniscule cap sleeve. When combined with the neckline, these subtle details make an elegant shape for the neck and shoulders, bring the eye to the face. The unusual skirt design is another playful element in this charming frock. The full skirt is gathered to the waistband and to the hem panel, creating a soft balloon effect. The hem panel has a large horizontal tuck below the gathered skirt, emphasizing the unusual shape. Two large self fabric bows are placed center front at the waist and the top of the hem panel, adding that extra touch of whimsy. Labeled by Gilden Juniors. No material tag but feels like Chiffon.
